LiveWell helps you track workouts, hydration, sleep, and nutrition. This page explains what data the app stores, when data leaves your device, which providers process data for LiveWell, and how to contact us with privacy questions.
Data stored on your device
- Workout plans, workout history, and active workout drafts
- Hydration, sleep, and nutrition logs
- Profile details, goals, and reminder preferences
- Enabled tab preferences and app settings
Data stored in LiveWell account services
- If you sign in, LiveWell stores your account record, authentication session metadata, subscription status, and managed AI usage records on LiveWell-managed servers.
- For managed AI usage limits and abuse prevention, LiveWell may store minimal hashed usage counters tied to your Sign in with Apple account. These counters do not include your prompts, photos, Apple identifier, email address, or LiveWell account ID.
- If you use AI meal photo analysis, LiveWell stores job metadata and the structured analysis result tied to your account. The raw uploaded photo is deleted after processing or during account deletion cleanup.
- LiveWell uses backend hosting, database, Redis, and object-storage providers to operate account, subscription, nutrition catalog, photo-analysis, and AI features.
Data shared when you choose connected features
- Meal photos you select for photo meal logging or AI analysis may be securely uploaded and temporarily stored for processing. If you save a photo-based meal, LiveWell may keep a small local preview from the selected photo with that meal until you delete the meal or local app data. Raw uploads are deleted after processing or during account deletion cleanup.
- Hosted AI requests may include relevant workout, nutrition, sleep, profile, prompt, photo-analysis, and account context needed to answer your request. LiveWell may process those requests with OpenAI or Anthropic depending on feature availability and service health.
- Sign in with Apple and LiveWell account sync send authentication data to Apple and LiveWell-managed backend services. StoreKit and App Store subscription sync use Apple purchase and transaction information.
- Nearby partner workouts use local network discovery when you host or join a session.
- If backend diagnostics are enabled, error and reliability information may be processed by Sentry. LiveWell does not use diagnostics for advertising or tracking.
Health data
LiveWell reads Apple Health sleep, workouts, steps, active energy, resting energy, birthday, sex, height, and weight only when you choose connected Health features. If you grant write permission, LiveWell can export newly logged workouts, active energy, and workout distance back to Apple Health. LiveWell uses Health data for profile setup, history, nutrition targets, progress summaries, averages, and goal comparisons inside the app. LiveWell does not use HealthKit data for advertising, marketing, tracking, data mining, or sale to data brokers.
Permissions
Depending on which features you use, LiveWell may request access to HealthKit, notifications, camera, photo library, local network, or NFC.
Retention and deletion
Local workouts, meals, saved meal photo previews, sleep logs, hydration logs, profile details, and preferences stay on your device until you edit them, remove them, delete the app, or replace them through backup and restore. Server-side retention windows limit how long LiveWell keeps audit metadata, expired sessions, finalized photo jobs, notification records, and temporary photo uploads. Raw meal photos uploaded for AI analysis are deleted after processing or during account deletion cleanup. Account deletion disables server access immediately, revokes active LiveWell sessions, queues server data deletion, and retries storage cleanup if a provider is temporarily unavailable. After account deletion, LiveWell may retain minimal hashed managed AI usage counters for the current calendar month plus 7 days to enforce usage limits and prevent abuse; these retained counters do not include prompts, photos, Apple identifiers, email addresses, or LiveWell account IDs. Account deletion does not remove local device logs, Apple Health entries, or App Store billing records managed by Apple.
Your choices
You can sign out, delete your account in the app, manage local data in the app, change permissions in iOS Settings, or contact support to ask privacy questions. You can withdraw optional permissions at any time, but features that depend on those permissions may stop working until permission is granted again.
